Spare Label was founded by Sabine Spare, a Toronto-based textile designer, artist, and materials enthusiast. Spare Label aims to contribute to a carefully curated lifestyle where every object and garment in one's surroundings tells a story. The label melds art and design in a fresh and unexpected way, always employing ethical and sustainable production practices. Each piece is thoughtfully made in Toronto by a person who truly loves their work. Marbling is an ancient aqueous surface design technique. Hand-marbled silks and cottons showcase organic patterns resembling stone and water. Each garment and accessory is cut from a monotype textile and as a result no two will ever be the same! Sabine Spare also teaches Fabric Marbling at her Toronto studio and through various community organizations.
